Meaning of Learning

A newly born baby lives in helpless state at the birth. He depends on others for everything. I the meantime, the same child learns many things. Learning is the innate quality of living beings.
Learning is an active response to a situation. A child burns with the flame of a burning candle. This is the first bitter experience for him. The second time, he stays away from the burning candle. The child learns that if he touches the flame again, he have to feel the pain of burning. In this way, through direct or indirect experiences, there are expected changes in the behavior of a person. Changes in behavior by experiences are simply given to be known as learning.
Learning is the progressive change in behavior by prior experiences. On this basis, it can be said that learning is education only. Learning and education, both point to the same action. Both thr actions continue to go in life forever and everywhere. Now we can say that, while moving towards maturity and taking advantages of his experiences, the response of child towards environment, is called Learning.
